Reminder that we are a year into aggressive ICE raids and concentration camps, and there’s not a single example of local cops protecting people against this violence, kidnapping, or death.

this one guy used to come to the video store on an endless quest for a particular vampire movie that had a scene he remembered where blood trickled over a woman's breast, no film ever seemed to be the one

wonder if that guy ever found what he was looking for

Surely it is a total coincidence that Klein and others frame punditry, the thing they do for a living, as the most important, patriotic thing someone can do to change hearts and minds. Being a boring, annoying dickhead is doing "politics the right away," according to a boring, annoying dickhead.

Homeless camps are a policy failure, but "clearing homeless camps" isn't a policy solution, it's the state harassing people for the crime of embarrassing the state with its policy failure.
Press needs to stop repeating govt euphemism of “clearing homeless camps.” I’ve witnessed it in other cities: massive destruction of personal property. Not just bedrolls & tents; family photos, Bibles, meds. Times I’ve seen it people weren’t even given option to move their things.

every time we do a ubi study it comes back like 99% of people have a greater quality of life and contribute more to economy numbers, and a week later there's a new nber paper that's like what if we legalized hunting humans for sport.
Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached.

They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others.

Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further.

#UBI doesn’t kill ambition, it frees it.

My new idea for NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND.

Pick 16 All Stars and let each of them draft 8-10 man teams from their Division from the the whole rosters. Then have them play a single elimination tournament. #NBA

People have been trying to reform police for as long as there has been police! It’s a feature and not a bug of policing that it cannot be reformed but the perpetual drumbeat of reform gives cover to the historical constant of police violence.
Instead of starting the police reform clock in 2020, look further back in time: Rodney King (community policing), Michael Brown (body cameras and procedural justice training). We've known for a long time that police reform doesn't address the true mechanism enabling police violence: police power.

I just learned that Draymond Green will be in the studio with EJ and the guys this week. I hate it. I hate when current players are on these things anytime, but Draymond is so bad at it, and thinks he's so good at it. He thinks he's Charles and he's just Shaq. Worst. #NBAonTNT
