The local rapid response policy, which I first learned today when I was permanently removed, is “No press allowed ever.” I just think this is incredibly short-sighted and almost intrinsically self-defeating. Who are we observing FOR?

People do take the ASVAB seriously, it's just hard for them.
I did well on the (easy) ASVAB, and the recruiter said "you can have any school you want". I responded that "everybody probably gets a high score" and this was an engagement trick. Nope, and he showed me some other results. All I can say is that many people don't take the ASVAB seriously.

You could do not ask for a more damming inducement of a certain subculture than this person who lives in *Michigan* scolding Stancil, who is actually in MN, for asking people to not LARP like they’re fucking antifa Jason Bourne and actually talk to media.

I don't want to be too down about the people concerned, but I hope they understand this is a risk they have *already* assumed by doing a large, public response network.

Threat modeling is *really* hard, but it seems like they are being driven by fear at the moment.

this is also tactically absurd in even the most grim scenario because will is a good lightning rod.
I’m not totally sure how to address this but apparently I’m getting kicked out of ICE rapid response for the moment because I’m allowing press ridealongs, with an extremely strict condition that no other observer be identified. Lots of observers have allowed ridealongs and they benefit us.

Ok people are misunderstanding what happened with Colin Wright. This isn't just a regular grift. What happened is Colin Wright's PhD advisor was Jonathan Pruitt who got caught perpetrating massive academic fraud. Pruitt was a coauthor on virtually everything Colin had published.
This guy *admits* he applied for "countless" tenure-track positions and ultimately had to leave academia because nobody would hire him. He claims, though, that Ivy League Cornell filled their position with a Black person who couldn't possibly be more qualified than him.

ICE's decision to just leave cars abandoned in the roads is one of those dystopian things that makes you recoil in shock when you encounter it.
A legal asylum-seeker who works at Chipotle and plays music at a church in Maine went missing. His pastor searched and searched, eventually finding his abandoned car with the keys on the floor.

ICE grabbed him. No criminal record. No explanation.

A few weeks back ICE agents ate at a Mexican restaurant and then *detained the restaurant's workers* and they're complaining about how they can't eat out anymore?
Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down

i am wondering how many people really get what exactly these agents are experiencing from us. like - they're all being told to kill themselves quite regularly. they're getting pelted with snowballs outside mcdonalds. way, way more than just Alex pretti has spit on them.
I know Stancil doesn't want to encourage the idea that Pretti was targeted but can you rule it out?

I know Stancil doesn't want to encourage the idea that Pretti was targeted but can you rule it out?
News Movement posted this video of Alex Pretti on Jan 13, showing him spitting at ICE agents and kicking their taillight.

Now conservatives are suggesting this changes things.

That would mean they are suggesting he deserved to be target of an extrajudicial execution.

The video changes nothing.

this is a straightforward impeachable offense for trump, vance, rubio and every other person down the line who enabled it and the framers would have thought impeachment for it did not go nearly far enough
Marco Rubio: "The oil proceeds are being deposited into an account that ultimately will become a US Treasury blocked account here in the US. We will say 'this is what this money can be spent on.' They will submit to us a budget request -- 'we want to use the money on these things.'"

To rephrase this slightly to make it correct - grading of assignments in courses for math and physics courses tends to be more objective than grading of assignments in the arts and humanities. That's not the same as the discipline itself being objective but it's also not nothing.
Maths and physics are objective and humanities is subjective.

That's the difference.
