Asked about Minneapolis, Victor Wembanyama says, “PR has tried, but I’m not going to sit here and be politically correct.”

Then says “it’s crazy that people make it seem like … the murder of civilians is acceptable.”

I'm goin nuts with the reporting on this. I can't find a single piece that answers the question: can users upload non-anti-ICE videos? That would be a useful question to answer in order to narrow down possible causes here
TikTok users say they can’t upload anti-ICE videos. The company blames tech issues

glory to the martyrs who defend the republic
My gosh. Alex Pretti was notifying neighbors that Trump and Vance's agents were chasing a family. A mob of agents then tackled him and broke his rib.

He thought he was going to die.

Then the very next week, he came back out to support his neighbors.

And a mob of agents killed him.

Something like one in three books produced in the US each year is destroyed without being read.
Anthropic hired the former head of Google Books to oversee its secret "Project Panama," new court docs show — quietly buying millions of used books in bulk, breaking their spines and scanning them to feed into its Claude chatbot. wapo.st/4rjXAMQ

If the agent who assaulted him for no reason that day was also one of the agents who murdered him for no reason, I can see why CBP is trying to hide the names.

There may have been a premeditative assassin that day, but it wasn’t Alex Pretti.
CNN reporting that a week before Alex Pretti was killed, 5 agents tackled him and he suffered a broken rib. CNN says he stopped his car after he saw ICE agents interacting with a family on foot and began to blow his whistle. Source tells CNN Pretti believed “That day he thought he was going to die”

"This nation is craving accountability" guy who has never met an American, apparently
This nation is craving accountability in all sorts of ways, and some of that needs to come from being honest about mistakes.

this is the right demand

when you are pressing the advantage you need to make your demands things that can be accomplished *now*

policy moves too slow for these sorts of moments. the momentum will be lost before anything can pass Congress even in the most optimistic of timelines.

TIME magazine could end this tomorrow by just making the cover an AI slop pic of Stephen Miller sitting behind the Resolute Desk
Trump is nothing if not ready to sacrifice anyone and anything in order to save his own ass and the single most important thing that could happen right now is someone convincing him that the biggest driver of his unpopularity is not just Bovino and Noem but Stephen Miller personally
Feels like Trump is pretty much unconditionally surrendering as support collapses

So basically here’s the deal. You can vote for a completely normal American politician and things will continue to suck in the normal ways. Or you can vote for the jokester because he makes you laugh and then regret it when somebody gets killed by a thug for literally no reason.

I, personally think its wrong that the White House took away Bovino's social media, and its censorship to take away his phone. Its his right as an American to keep answering increasingly detailed factual questions as he melts down emotionally

The debate over Holocaust uniqueness has been going on basically since it occurred and is in no way "why Holocaust remembrance culture is in crisis" (quite a euphemism...)
The US Holocaust Museum being more outraged by Tim Walz saying that, like Anne Frank, children today are in hiding from armed agents of the state, than they are about the fact that children are in hiding from armed agents of the state, is why Holocaust remembrance culture is in crisis.
