Dear Critical Issues Forum Friends,I hope this message finds you well and enjoying a peaceful and joyful holiday season.2025 has been a challenging year in many ways—for nuclear disarmament educators and for people around the world. Yet, I hope we can close this year on a hopeful note and begin the new year with renewed energy and purpose. Most importantly, I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to our friends and supporters. Thank you so much for your continued support throughout the year. Without you, we could not have carried out this important educational project. At a time when youth education for nuclear disarmament is more necessary than ever, the world often seems to be moving in the wrong direction. Still, we do not give up. Guided by hope, creativity, and the energy of young people, we continue to believe in the power of education to create change.May the new year bring you renewed joy, inspiration, and peace. May it also bring new connections, fresh ideas, and moments of encouragement that remind us why this work matters. I look forward to continuing our efforts together toward a more humane and peaceful future. With my warmest wishes,Masako@nonproliferation @middleburycollege @middleburyinstitute @middconflicttransformation #disarmament #youtheducation #peaceeducation

Over 14,000 physicians currently practicing in the United States, concentrated in underserved Midwestern+Southern states, are currently working on H-1B visas.

This is the high-skill visa program, lifeblood for critical sectors, that the US Administration is sledgehammering.

Gov Yuzaki never disappoints. At the ceremony, his message was clear: ‘Deterrence has been broken by over-confident leaders, extreme egoism, pressure from an agitated populace, & widespread misunderstandings.’ A powerful reminder on this 80th anniversary.

80 Years After Hiroshima Bombing, Art Needs ‘Courage to Be Afraid’
Eighty years after the city’s destruction, we seem to be blundering into a new age of nuclear perils. It is time for culture to rediscover “the courage to be afraid.”
