"it will take a generation" = no point, give up, it's going to take too long, why bother, damage is done

"it will take a tremendous amount of effort over the next decade to undo or mitiage" = tough yet achievable, i care now, etc

True high speed rail on dedicated tracks would be super popular here, as it is everywhere else it’s been tried. But even more Amtrak Cascades runs, enabled by the new Airo trains coming into service next year, will help a lot.
the fact that amtrak cascades hit another ridership record in FY25 despite shutting down for two weeks and spending half the year running smaller trains with higher prices bc of the horizon recall is another sign that the demand for rail in the pnw is genuinely insatiable

correction: this is totally doable in the *least* intuitive way possible.

set your modifiers right on one, select the rest (like with the brush tool, so one object is yellow and the others are red)

then "Copy Modifiers" (use f3 to search) and lol... it 'copies' the lack of modifiers..
lol incredible how blender will let you do so many like incredible things but then you want to say, remove multiple modifiers from multiple objects at once and everyones just like "idk do it one at a time"

This one was inspired heavily by the GOAT Simon Stålenhag. Duno how successful of an attempt it was but nevertheless it is available to be ...looked at #blender #b3d #blender3d #3dart

More work from my backlog, and a personal favorite bc this was my first ever attempt at any sort of character design. The intended platform for this render was IG, which lets you pair stuff with music, so since cant do that here imagine Health is playing lol

looking for some steam software - procedural music generation using a node graph editor. you'd make little blip bloppies, and they'd react / flow to each other.

looked pretty robust - it's not nodal (not on steam, iirc) so what was it? :l

heard a take the other day that the republic was founded to be *less* democratic, not more, because the founders were extremely upset that Boston / Mass had too much democracy

which is just the funniest, truest thing i can imagine

seems not great when one of your biggest, most diverse bioregions with a huge population is due for a well-documented natural disaster that will be one of the worst in history

its hard to capture the era of timesplitter's genre of shooters without the weird auto-aimy loose controls that came from *goldeneye* originally being pitched as a light gun game for a non-existent n64 peripheral

those games have a different feeling for a reason, not seeing it in this trailer
November 23, 2025 at 9:03 PM
im glad that we're getting more time splitters but its so weird to me that we essentially can have the most All-Time Classic Titles still have to waddle up to us in early access and be like "pweese can we make da game" instead of just having a publisher hand them gobs of cash since ppl love it
November 23, 2025 at 8:57 PM
i think also there's a lot of dealing in clichés, tropes, and other cues from his favorite works / genres. its less about "lets write a good story" and "lets write a *memorable* story with memorable plot beats and sequences"

you know, like a cult classic yet troubled movie from the 60s-00s lol
I feel like he’s a really good game designer and unintentionally hilarious wrt narrative. If he didn’t have the skills to make a frankly ridiculous story feel compelling to *play*, no one would take him seriously.

Because the underlying gameplay is there, we all choose to revel in the absurdity.
