I do think it's important to point out sometimes that I had to go on a bumpy learning curve, too. I have always been empathic, I have always cared about other people, I have never WANTED to be racist! But white people get to be ignorant about so much shit in this country, for SO LONG.

Absolutely. And thinking of the same for my mom. At least I was able to meet my kid's needs and the cycle is broken. It helps me to accept my grief a bit
