With his“garbage” rant, Trump revealed who and what he is: a racist. It remains for Americans to reveal who and what they are: Will they accept or even support Trump’s racism? Or will they repudiate it soundly enough to establish that such behavior is unacceptable? We’ll soon find out.
Trump 'garbage' rhetoric about Somalis draws cheers from administration, silence from Republicans and alarm from critics
Donald Trump's racial comments are growing increasingly bold, normalized and permissible, his critics say, as some of his allies and supporters no longer consider them out of bounds.

Recognizing that the so-called MAGA base comprises only about a quarter of the American electorate, it is heartening to observe that most Americans share the opposition to Trump and his corruption and lawlessness that animated last Saturday’s No Kings protests. The movement grows; more to come.

Leavitt says Democrats are "Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals". Too ludicrous to dignify with a rebuttal, her words at least reveal her delusions. Seems kinda quaint to recall the hissy fit Republicans threw when Hillary Clinton said some of them were "deplorable".
Karoline Leavitt’s ‘Incredibly Dangerous’ Rant About Democrats Draws Instant Backlash

Trump works himself up watching Fox News spew vitriol and half-truths--and then unleashes his anger on Americans or at least those he deems the enemy within.
"Trump’s Addiction to Watching Fox Is Killing American Democracy"

Our country is falling apart because one old man, Trump advisers and former administration officials say, won’t stop ‘yelling’ at his TV, writes Zeteo's @swin24.bsky.social:

Wealth inequality in America has worsened since the 1980s and now reaches obscene levels. Here is a graphic comparison of what Americans think is an “ideal” distribution of wealth, what they think is the “actual” distribution, and the actual distribution. www.facebook.com/678867796/vi...

Thanks to trickle-down, Americans now experience the worst income and wealth inequality since the 1920s. Republicans propose to further transfer wealth from most Americans to the wealthiest few and skyrocket that inequality. If they pass the bill, ready yourself for some ugly times in America.

The biggest liar of our time (BLOOT) boasted that Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities had been “obliterated”--before anyone could really know that. When a Defense Intelligence Agency report later contradicted him, BLOOT screamed “scum” and “fake news”--as if he wasn't the one caught lying.

Trump has sent our military to war without authorization by Congress and without offering a shred of evidence justifying his action. He took us to war on nothing more than his say so, which isn’t worth spit. That's not the American way.

AMERICANS ROARED! Millions of Americans voiced opposition to Trump at “No Kings” protests around the nation. Meanwhile, few attended Trump’s parade. While pitching it as honoring our military, he couldn’t hide that he hoped Americans’ high regard for our military would rub onto him. Didn't happen.
No Kings protests vs Donald Trump’s military parade: Comparing the crowd sizes at each event
Calculating crowd size can be a challenge, and estimates for both Trump’s parade and ‘No Kings’ protests vary widely.

DOGE is a dud—at least for cutting fraud, waste, and abuse. It has seen more “success” though in disruption and destruction: purging and intimidating federal employees, downsizing and hobbling government services, scratching Trump’s itch for revenge, and looting government data for Musk’s benefit.

Michael Roth finds "no comfort" in the Trump administration’s ostensible embrace of Jews on college campuses. "Jew hatred is real, but today’s anti-antisemitism isn’t a legitimate effort to fight it. It’s a cover for a wide range of agendas that have nothing to do with the welfare of Jewish people.”

The message is: crowd large.

Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift.

Events like this puncture that delusion.

I asked the one high ranking policeman I saw on 5th Ave why there were so few police. He said “We did not expect anything like this. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve only got 44 officers out here — and it’s a great crowd, great event, no incidents.”
