Particularly poignant reading this from an emergency management conference. Preparing for and responding to THIS is an appropriate use of the National Guard. We absolutely do not need to be manufacturing crisis when this is literally our back yard.

Now that Trump has been enjoined from sending *any* NG to Oregon, ICE is going to go gangbusters in Oregon, dialing everything up to 1000%.

Because they need riots. They need someone punching an ICE officer.

A second TRO has been granted barring ANY federalized NG from coming into Oregon— unless conditions change. This is a monumental ruling in so many ways— and sets the stage for what comes next. Ie: if Trump obeys the rule of law and the courts.

A preliminary injunction hearing may follow later this month and the facts on the ground matter.

If a right wing influencer with a camera is trying to goad you into a fight, there is a reason for that, and the reason is we could lose our legal standing to stop the feds from coming in.

That’s incredibly kind. Thank you. I try to be a “doer” as much as a “poster” but I’ve been a slightly-under-the-weather insomniac the last few days, so, here I’ve been. In the meantime, working with folks on some good pushback and protect legislation for 2026. I will not give up, ever.
