Must be worried about this chances of re election if he’s willing to spend money on a bridge that isn’t for cars.
NEW: Chris Bishop used housing money to fund a bridge in his electorate his own Govt had killed off.

Officials were against the move and Labour say he shouldn’t have been anywhere near the decision.

Chris Bishop diverts Kāinga Ora money to fund a bridge in his electorate
Officials warned against the use of housing funds for bridge building but Bishop says it was a “pragmatic choice”.

@andrewlittlenz.bsky.social should be made to answer for this every time Ray Chung does or says something stupid. Which he will.
Between you and me, if I were a freshly elected mayor who had just called out the toxic behaviour towards my predecessor, I wouldn't then go and reward one of the central figures in creating that toxicity by making them chair of an influential subcommittee... 🤦‍♂️

Wellington's new mayor Andrew Little says Tory Whanau faced 'toxic behaviour'
In a speech to supporters on Saturday night, Little said Whanau had shown courage during her time as mayor.

Read Joel Maxwell’s column this morning about a potential Maori prime minister. Had to laugh at the suggestion of Tama Potaka.

How was the $90k Rolex not a story at the time?
“Chung's bid for mayor was taken advantage of by those with an axe to grind about issues he likely didn't even understand.”

OPINION: How Ray Chung’s once-promising mayoral bid collapsed in a landslide defeat

He was so confident in mayoral bid he reserved a $90k Rolex. Here's how it went so wrong
OPINION: Once a front-runner, Ray Chung's campaign style and scandal sank his mayoral bid.

Who is the current “Murray McCully” in the national party? The person who does the numbers in a leadership coup?

Bugger off Graham.
I've had a pretty shocking 72 hours. You probably know the Wellington region is notorious for its dirty politics - and I just got a very personal taste. The time to take a stand is right now.

The person who should be most worried about recent poll result isn’t Christopher Luxon. It’s Nicola Willis. The economy is the core issue and Luxon is the sort of PM who thinks that replacing a minister demonstrates that he is in charge.

It doesn’t matter to me when you get out of the clown car that is Independent together, only that you lack sufficient judgment getting in it in the first place.

I remember when behaving boorishly and obnoxiously in public would see a minister sacked by the PM. It seems being boorish and obnoxious is a qualification for a ministerial role in this govt.

When it comes to local elections in 2026 you want to back a winner. Wins don’t get much more significant than this. @rebeccamatthews.bsky.social is a winner!
Breaking news: Council won in the case taken by Live Wellington over the character areas in the District Plan. As the mover of the amendment to reduce character protections and enable more housing, I am thrilled to bits.

No politician or their family should be subjected threats or assault for doing their job. Shane Jones should never be able to go out in public without someone loudly telling him what a reprehensibly pitiful excuse for a human being he is.

Should parties encourage MPs to retire after 6 terms? Makes space for new MPs and also avoids having MPs who’ve been there longer than the lifetime of a first time voter?
