Learning to Bleed comes out March 18th and artist @scherville.com is so deeply talented I can hardly believe it!

This book is the 2nd in a trilogy that explores queerness and trauma through vampire lore, all against the backdrop of an impoverished rural community that has its own monsters 👀

PAINTED FLOCK deals heavily with compulsory romance and toxic ideas around romantic relationships. "More than friends" as an expression to mean sexual-romantic partners irks me to no end, so of course it's right there in the thick of the narration.

/ I've been informed that this is not actually the general consensus 🫠 It holds true for my circle of mostly disabled authors, though, so I suspect disabled and ND authors are going to be a lot more considerate in this way...

I sent out my ARCs pretty late, but there's never any expectation that people read them by the publication date. I don't think most indies care that reviews are out on pub date. We just want you to have fun reading.

As a young adult, what I liked about Holmes was the brilliance, but as an adult, I have learned that brilliance is most often useless without kindness, and treasure the depictions of brilliant, kind characters all the more for that.

YES THIS. There's something about the show that's just so FUN in the way that the Murderbot books are. It takes what's technically a very serious and emotional story and makes it into something Murderbot itself would love, and that's exactly what I'm looking for from it.

Update!! She is feeling much better now! Apparently switching her fully to the digestive health food was actually making her tummy hurt more because of the high rice and gluten content.

Going back to all Tiki Cat food seems to have fixed things 🤞
