Here we are on Christmas morning. Day 28 on the 2025 March to New Year’s, and on Christmas I like to go back to where it began with the original Greg Lake version of “I Believe In Father Christmas”.
Though there are still a handful of songs to go this year.

Day 27, Christmas Eve, as the march rolls on. From the 1823 poem “Account Of A Vist By St. Nicholas” by Clement Clark Moore, The Brothers Four always seemed to capture the real traditional feel of “T’was The Night Before Christmas”.

Very sad to hear if the passing of Mick Abrahams on December 19th. Mick was the founding member of Jethro Tull, and his blues influences wer quite evident on the debut album, This Was. Mick left and went on to form Blodwyn Pig.

Fifty-six years ago today, in what must have been an add on show at the “NewOld Fillmore”, as it’s not listed on the poster for that set of shows. Released as the 2013 Bonus Disc to Dave’s Picks vol. 6 (which had recordings from the 12/20/69 show).

31 years ago today in the Los Angeles Sports Arena, in LA, NOT Atlanta, GA. Night 4 of the run. I was there and remember enjoying the show almost as much as the Branford show in the 16th. One if the few times I got to hear Days Between.

31 years ago, day 3 of 4 at the Sports Arena in LA, not in Atlanta, GA. I was there, but after the “heft” of Branford on night 2 I remember very little of the show but a good Tom Thumb’s in the first set and a big Terrapin in the second.

This is where I was 31 years ago! The LA Sports Arena, enjoying the Grateful Dead with Branford Marsalis sitting in for the whole show. Hearing him on those opening notes, you knew it was gonna be good!
