The utter lack of response to Dobbs in 2022 didn’t tip you off? When we didn’t take to the streets and burn it all down to stop them forcing ten year olds to carry their father’s babies and talking about giving doctors the death penalty? Minimum a couple decades before an actual resistance exists

I’m a physician and still get treated this way. I thought at some point it would stop. Even though I’m atop the hierarchy, because I don’t believe in it and treat everyone equally, I’m not seen as being atop the hierarchy. It’s weird. I’ll never get it.

I don’t miss America but I do miss the idea of America. I miss what I thought America could be when I was younger if we fought hard enough. Maybe it’s more grief than missing it.

I’m a doc who used to live in the US and tried to get in with a psychiatrist I’d known since fricking residency and couldn’t get past the wall of NPs. She was nice but she looked to be about 12 and expected me to tell her what to prescribe. They are churning out inexperienced NPs to make money.

My malpractice instance in the US was 7 TIMES what it is here in 3. I got zero weeks paid maternity leave in the US and know my kids will get a year here 4. My prescriptions are a fraction of what they cost in the US 5. I haven’t had to do a prior auth or refuse to see a patient for lack of coverage

So as an American doctor who moved to Canada, I feel I am qualified to speak on this. I do pay somewhat higher taxes here (mainly Nova Scotia sales tax TBH which I knew was getting myself into) but I am *happy* to do so for the social safety net. Also: 1. My health insurance in the US was $1K/mo

My kids have had long COVID since March 2020. It’s gotten more attention than their PANS/PANDAS because it affects adults but it’s still not great.

I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

My next student loan payment isn’t due until November 2028 (thank you Joe Biden 🫡) and NGL I’m wondering if the US will even be standing by then. We all may get that student loan forgiveness they’ve denied us in the end 🤷🏻‍♀️

Moms of level 3 autistics who complain about level 1 autistics ignoring the challenges level 3 autistics have are really complaining that we’re ignoring *their* suffering, not their offspring. They’re calling for there to be 2 separate diagnoses which is medically inaccurate and harms solidarity
