This new piece with @toubiana.bsky.social and Trish Ruebottom in @sciam.bsky.social, explored how Trump’s appeal mirrors the strategies of voyeuristic businesses, like reality TV or social media influencers. 🧵

Identifying public officials isn't "doxing." People have the right to know who is working for their government. Nor, for that matter, is it "radical left-wing terrorism." So it's frustrating to see platforms caving to these bad faith characterizations. www.technologyreview.com/2025/10/06/1...

please think about this with your kids. it's on you to protect them - and you don't want them to live their entire lives with LC, which has no cure

start with boosters twice a year - less than 20% of you got your kids even one shot last year

Good morning.

The government is shut down because Trump wants to act like a king and steal from you.

Democrats have no obligation to support a budget that funds the destruction of our democracy - and DOUBLES health premiums to fund a tax cut for billionaires.

Folks — this is not a normal government shutdown.

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

“Reasonable Republicans.” Good luck with that Hakeem. The leadership of my new political party just does not understand this moment we’re in. They just don’t get it.

Huh, I'm hearing that the Democrats shut down the government, why can't Donald Trump make it open up again, I thought he was in charge, is he not in charge? Is he too weak to make the government open up again?

Overnight, Trump and Republicans in Congress shut down the federal government.

They shut it down because they’re determined to strip healthcare from millions of Americans, to enrich the billionaires they serve, to continue the assault on our rights.

We must fight back.

The people at this ostrich farm are the same gang that opposed M-103, co-opted yellow vests, push UN / WEF conspiracies, opposed lockdowns, face masks and vaccines, occupied Ottawa, harassed people at drag story time events etc

It’s all the same far-right influencers and content creators every time

A 72-year-old woman who lives next to that ostrich farm where a group of convoy people are camping out was doused in gasoline and physically assaulted by a man in a balaclava who may have been trying to light her in fire

She says she survived the attack by kicking the man in the nuts and biting him

Pritzker: "In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists & protesters when unprovoked what would we call it? If officials marched down streets harassing civilians & demanding their papers, what would we say? I don't think we'd have trouble calling it what it is: authoritarianism"

I really welcome creative thinking like this.

Because SIMPLY expanding the court won't be enough.
izzos.us
In a world where I'm President with supermajorities in Congress in 2029 what I do is:

1. Skip the 2029 SCOTUS term to put reforms in

2. Expand the Court to 13 justices (matching the Circuits)

3. Require justices to actually ride Circuit, hopefully this forces retirement of one's like Thomas (1/2)
lutherevers.bsky.social
Yeah. If Dems don't immediately go all-in on Supreme Court reform the second they regain power, this country won't survive.

I again float my idea of peaceful dissolution into 4 smaller regional countries.

Yesterday, history happened at the UN: For the first time hundreds of orgs signed a global pledge declaring that healthy indoor air is a human right.

Healthy indoor air is a key tool for preventing pandemics, building climate resilience, and increasing health equity. We need it everywhere!
