How are they determining their users though? By followers? The place is maybe 60+% bot or dormant account. People are not necessarily seeing posts. I ran a quick audit on Met Eireann. Nearly 400k followers? Not really.

I know it's always true that smaller packs cost more by weight than larger ones, but this seems like taking the piss territory.

Buy a kg for €5.95. Only want half that? That'll be €8.98 per kg.

This one in a friend's garden, also left until the wasps were done with it. They are such amazing structures.

Love the moon in a blue sky. Gorgeous day to start the new year.

Went for a Winter's evening walk and found Spring.

Because we had Irish Christmas dinner on Sunday, to fit in with family who will have a Lithuanian Christmas at the weekend, I have no reached the best part early!

Yes, the ads are annoying. But whoever came up with that 'Swipe for next article' thing, that covers the text you are trying to read and that can't be dismissed, deserves a terrible fate.

AI slop. It's an amazing looking bird but it doesn't look like that.

The secretary of the VAWM is Aoife Byrne, a vet based in Carlow. She is encouraging readers of the Irish Field (and others) to contact their TDs to lobby against a ban on fox hunting and they are doing so in numbers. They need to hear the alternative view. You know what to do.

It's not even her best work.

Can't say I enjoy having too many wasps buzzing around in the summer, but the huge intricate papery nests they leave behind are really impressive.

It was really frightening at times inland from you Kilkenny so can imagine how bad there. Can see the hardest hit areas on the ESB outages.

One down, four to go. This one, for someone who doesn't like white icing, is toasted almond and is a bit messy, but it'll do.

I made this today. Didn't have a pie dish so the edges are messy. Followed recipe exactly except used 4 pears as they were small. It's a bit of a fiddle but SO worth it, absolutely delicious. Thank you!

If you're in Lidl, this is absolutely delicious.

That'll do.

Birthday in the house today and instead of a cake this favourite apple tart was requested.

I didn't actually set out to make a patriotic dinner.

Caramelised onion with goat's cheese and toasted pine nuts. My version of a soup I had in a restaurant in Prague and kept dreaming about. Takes time to caramelise onions but worth it.

Recipe in alt.

I'm voting for Catherine Connolly tomorrow because she is easily the best option on the paper. She is not my ideal candidate, I disagree with her on some things, she has disappointed me on others. But I think she will be a good president and the Aras will be in safe hands.
