There is such a thing as good government. Government can use taxes and funds to serve its people. In fact, when capitalism leaves everyone but the 1% behind (like Amazon and Walmart making billions but barely paying minimum wage), government should step in to uplift and even the playing field.(1/4)

Press secretary #KarolineLevitt lied that in 2024 we spent $9 billion on #healthcare for undocumented immigrants, obviously false. Call your reps, leave a message, tell them to use USDA contingency funds and other sources to fund #SNAP/WIC without eliminating funding for Medicaid and ACA subsidies.

Government #shutdown? That is not on the Democrats when the Republicans control all the branches. If the GOP worked to support and actually strengthen healthcare instead of stripping it away from millions of Americans, then we wouldn’t be at this precipice.

Q: why didn’t liberals question the vaccine the same way we do Tylenol?
A: We did. When the evidence overwhelmingly supported the use of COVID vaccines, we reviewed further and then we accepted that instead of moving the goalposts. (1/2)

I understand that people want answers about #autism, but cutting funding for research into #pediatric disease and things that might actually contribute and fixating on convenient targets (parents) with poor quality evidence is not the way.

This administration is using poor observational studies with major confounders to “prove” acetaminophen as a cause of #autism (it is not). Laurel Bristow pointed out #RFKJr left out the massive 2024 study that reduced recall bias and compared siblings and found NO association.
