Weird toilet store guy explained the repair to me, and sold me the part for $7.90 (professing embarrassment at the small amount), and I just made the fix. Seems to work! He was a mensch. Here's the street-facing toilet showroom so you know why I called it "weird."

There's honestly nothing really weird about it and the guy there was extremely friendly and helpful to me just now. But my prior interaction with the place was solely walking in front of this long toilet display / showroom that faces the street.

this implies that the point of instagram is to show photographic proof that you have an interesting life. if images are not probative, the currency is debased, "killing" the product. i don't really use instagram so i have no idea how to evaluate these claims lol.

I've been buying these Adidas Adapts for a few years cuz they are reasonably comfy and durable slip-ons that usually go for cheap. Every now and then they update the design and this year they are randomly Gothed Out.

hm actually the way it happened was i posted an interview where lessig made these claims, and he came into my mentions to get on my case for characterizing him as "defending" nowak and ito to begin with.
Interview with Lessig as reported in the Crimson: Harvard Law School professor Lawrence Lessig said in an interview he felt Nowak was “scapegoated” by the report, which he said omitted the involvement of Summers, the “most important actor in the whole story.” Lessig said Summers was crucial in developing Epstein’s ties with the University. Nowak’s “institution had a relationship to Epstein because the administration told him he had to have one and he had to maintain it and he had to support it,” Lessig said. “Martin is recruited to run the center, and it’s made clear from the very beginning Martin’s job in running the center is to continue to encourage the funding of its chief funder, which was Epstein,” he added. “But for Larry Summers, it’s not even clear any of it would have happened,” Lessig said. A spokesperson for Summers wrote that his involvement with the PED was entirely during his presidency and prior to Epstein’s arrest, and that Harvard’s gift procedures were followed.

I get this point, but $260k plus free rent on Gracie Mansion is much more than a mayor needs for any conceivable expenses while in office. Saying they should be paid $5MM is saying that they should be permanently made into a member of the upper classes.

I see an argument for that of course!...
