I asked GitHub Copilot to update a READMEon a Unicod text splitting library I maintain. The README contains Korean and Japanese examples.

Copilot repeatedly failed to apply its edits, complained about "smart quotes" and proceeded to write a python script to apply its own edits...

I don't know what on earth I'm going to do with this but I'm pleased as punch that it works.

As an early adopter of git I'm not overtly enthusiastic about jj.

That said, I LOVE being able to commit unresolved merge conflicts.

I have seen so many regressions make their way to production because a junior handled a merge wrong.

Being able to let someone else resolve a conflict is amazing.

Poking around the new TypeScript-Go package, everything is modified 1985-10-26T03:15:00Z

Is there some significance to that timestamp I don't know about?

I was up last night, couldn't sleep.

Started trying to install… macOS Ventura… on my Linux laptop via QEMU. It was taking forever. I woke up to a very broken install of Sonoma

I don't know what happened in the interim while I was asleep, and I'm very curious

Some device in my house has seemingly gone rogue and is just hijacking everything's Bluetooth.

I was trying to set up an N64 Blueretro, both the base and the controller kept connecting to.. something. Not each other.

My M1 Macbook Pro seems unable or unwilling to update past 15.4.1…

I just want 15.7 so I can run the latest Xcode

Unpopular opinion: Holmes & Watson (2018) was actually… pretty good.

I think people just expected wall-to-wall comedy and instead got a period piece that happened to have some mild slapstick mixed in.

Pull the comedy out completely, and it'd be a decent serious Sherlock Holmes movie.

AWS's status feeds are sharing the same GUIDs across services for this outage.

Let me repeat that. The same GLOBALLY UNIQUE IDs

Everything has the GUID "https://status.aws.amazon.com/#multipleservices-us-east-1_1760944260_0"

This completely confused our internal service status tracker.

Is anyone actually using tab groups in desktop Chrome?

They seem like the epitome of the kind of thing people beg for and then don't actually use once they get them because the UX is awkward and requires thought on the end users part.

I wrote a small rant about an interesting quirk of the #php PSR-16 spec and its relation to the provided interfaces.

Fully Implementing PSR-16 Simple Cache is Less Than Simple
A small but interesting quirk in the PSR-16 “Simple Cache” spec — why correctly implementing getMultiple, setMultiple, and deleteMultiple isn’t as simple as it looks, and how contravariance and PHP’s ...

I go through this every… single… time…

So… I made a meme.

I think I'm the only person who thinks this is funny.

I hate to say it but I'm kind of bored with NIN / Trent Reznor soundtracks.

I've listened through the Tron: Ares soundtrack a couple times and it just does literally nothing for me

I find commit messages adhering to strict syntaxes annoying.

Commit messages should be by humans for humans, and an expression of your humanity.

I'm over here digging my way through some Go logs, and I noticed something I can't unsee…

YYYY/MM/DD … what the heck kind of date format is that?

ISO everything is YYYY-MM-DD

Why is this a thing in GHFM and CommonMark…

WHY does this not just create two <ul>'s?!

I run into this all the time and it's so very frustrating

So I just got back from a trip to Green Bay and Door County, Wisconsin.

I took my Meshtastic node with me.

I was surprised not to have picked up a single node east of Eau Claire.

I tried fiddling with the frequency and LoRa presets according to Meshconsin, no dice 🤷

I've complained to @git-tower.com directly in the past, but they have declined to fix it.

Tower's "Terminal" button is wildly irresponsibly dangerous.

Instead of opening a fresh terminal, it types "cd ''" into whatever you happen to have open and hits enter.

I accidentally into my database.

Hear me out, someone needs the *courage* to put a quarter-inch headphone jack on a phone.

I look ridiculous walking down the street with this chain of adapters.

WHY on earth is this not the default option, GitHub?!

Who wants rando's wandering in and reviewing pull requests?

Interesting - GitHub Actions detects and censors JWTs.

It would be nice if it gave you any indication it'd done so, so you're not stuck trying to spot the difference between two identical grawlix
