Social media has successfully convinced young people that they can be judged and found wanting at any time, and must endlessly prove that they hold the "most correct" ideas and ideals, that they are consuming "correct" content. It's extremely repressive.

Liberals can process approximately 4 to 5 years of political history at any given time. Anything beyond that might as well be an ancient history to them. Something that happened in 1988 may as well have happened in 1305. Thats why they also think, say, DHS/ICE is in immutable part of the US govt.
