I love good food, the creativity of the human imagination, and pretty things.
I’d happily spend a crisp winter evening strolling those streets and stopping in at various shops for a few holiday treats.

Might swear a bit going past those parks, though. 😄

It’s a great composition too, just lots of energy in the way the road snakes around and the perspective of the city in the distance.

This one really engaged my attention - not to mention expanded by swearing vocabulary. It was fun to see the sparkle and shine of the pieces, and I really liked the colour palette, especially those deep greens.

*slow clap*

Well played, Sparking City. The twists and turns of the streets foreshadowed those I ended up wandering down (and around) in often fruitless quests to make headway of several sections of the puzzle. You warned me, it was right there in front of my eyes, but I thought I knew better!

Not gonna lie: kind of felt like Rocky running up the steps of the art museum at this point.

Completing this one came down to a war of puzzle attrition: picking up one piece and trying it in every available spot.

Curse you, Sparkling City! (she says with love)

Like, I’d look at a space and think, ‘Ah, I need something with a bit of orange here, and half a circle of pink there,’ kind of thing, and after 45 minutes, it would turn out to be something else entirely.

It doesn’t look like much to do but completing those trees in the bottom left took me a few days. I just couldn’t seem to find the pieces for what appeared to be obvious spots.
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
But the puzzle wasn’t letting me do a victory lap just yet, as it turned out.

And VOILA. Assumptions have been proved correct: the second park WAS at the bottom of the puzzle, and the road DID connect to the park in the middle. And once that was sorted, the buildings seemed to come together relatively quickly.

I was thinking that half-curve of fencing kept going, so I kept looking for pieces to do just that. I should have realized after, like, a week or so that I must be at an edge.

Classic rookie mistake!

Wasn't going to make the same one with the bottom part of the other park, that's for sure.
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
FINALLY. And I see now why I wasn’t really making much progress on that park: the right-hand side is the left edge of the puzzle, so there aren’t any other pieces there besides the edges.
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
Oh my god, those parks are ruining whatever satisfaction I’m experiencing with the skyline and sky. Why can’t I get even one or two pieces in there?? Argh, I tell you. ARGH.
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
Those parks are beginning to get on my nerves.
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
Weirdly - irritatingly - the two parks continued to resist my valiant efforts to add anything to them.
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
The road/tree pieces kept accumulating and I kept not being able to make any headway on them, so off they went to the side of the board.

Honestly, it was getting stressful to look at and was distracting me from areas I could make headway on, like the background.
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
By contrast, the dark night sky pieces seemed to be far more promising so I ended up sorting those out as well.

(Still, it’s a crowded board now, isn’t it?)
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
After a good start on the parks I found myself stymied and not progressing as fast as I would have thought on either. I also kept adding more of the brown/white pieces thinking I’d be able to start fitting more of those together.

All I managed was to clutter up the board.
January 1, 2026 at 8:10 PM
Off to a decent start on the parks but while I did pull out some of the brown/white pieces (clearly the roads) I know they wind through the puzzle as a whole so I’m wasn't too focused on building those out as of yet.

And we’re off! Gotta say, loving that pink sweater/jacket combo. Looks fuzzy and cozy!
