The family cats went on a food strike at dinner time tonight. Just bugged out after a polite but cursory nosing of the food.

Hit Points aren’t “life force”, “energy”, “the will to keep fighting”, or whatever and some such.

It’s currency you spend to avoid sitting at the table rolling up a new PC while everyone has a blast playing the game you aren’t.

Unless rolling up a PC is the game you want to play…
