And now, I plan to awaken at about 5:45 a.m. local time so as to make reservations in March at a three Michelin star-rated restaurant in New York for my visit. Adieu!

Today I've spent hours combing through high-resolution images to find suitable art for my living room. I just thought I'd share some of the spoils because it has been an absolute aesthetic joy.

I think the health claims are less substantive than strained diarrhea but I’ll be damned if these aren’t tasty as fuck.

Once again: Fuck Donald J. Trump, a dementia-riddled pedophile, and the miserable sycophantic husks who smear themselves with his feculent lies and incoherent hatred. This - and so much else - is the putrescence for which they are responsible. How will we hold them accountable?
Two Democratic members of Congress attacked in three days. Maxwell Frost was assaulted on Saturday, Ilan Omar tonight.

Bare minimum, yes, the Senate should shut the government down.

What is needed is a true Jeffersonian renewal, though. I know this is hardly the time and they’re hardly the ones to lead it. But the reigns of imperial power are held by oligarchs, child rapists, and Nazis - there is but one solution.

They’re saying 6-8” of snow, plus up to an inch of sleet accumulation, between tomorrow and Sunday.

That means days of nothing but cooking, reading, watching movies, and being thankful my utility lines were undergrounded during construction.

I anticipate Monday being a vacation day, too.

Trump has dementia, yes, but he’s also profoundly stupid.

Rereading DC Comics' "The Sandman" and notices this in issue #1. Where can I get more Looney Tunes/Thelema cross-over merch?

The subhuman who murdered Renee Good today must be identified and located. There should be grievous consequences for that monstrosity to say nothing of what has been earned by the ignorant, mean-spirited pedophiles currently destroying this country.

Alan Moore, talking about Gothic literature and the advent of genre, but also describing me.

Saw boxes of David bars at Super Walmart.

Is that really their intended audience? I had to yeet myself across town to a Vitamin Shoppe to get them before. Am I underestimating the cultural moment protein is having right now?

This Syntrax Honeycrisp Apple protein powder might be the best I’ve ever had, certainly among them.

90 calories, 23 grams of protein per scoop. Flavor is not artificial apple, more of a mildly tart natural apple flavor. Gonna go well with some sugar-free apple pie filling, I tell you what.

I use both Letterboxd and StoryGraph but simply as logging tools; in neither do I assign ratings, and only in Letterboxd do I infrequently add some thoughts or reflections.

The notion of establishing and adhering to a consistent rating scale would prove me irresolute, and that I cannot abide.

My favorite first-time watches of 2025:

- “Howl’s Moving Castle” (2004)
- “Call Me By Your Name” (2017)
- “Phantom Thread” (2017)
- “Wake Up Dead Man” (2025)
- “Frankenstein” (2025)

And least favorite:

- “Y2K” (2024)
- “Eddington” (2025)
- “Captain America: Brave New World” (2025)

Just over halfway through a 2022 Sherlock Holmes book and so struck by a lesson from grad school: whether you call it the second act or simply the middle, that section is the literal core of your book - if it doesn’t work, your story likely doesn’t either, much less your book.

Huh, so the villain of “Only Murders in the Building” season five was … Eric Adams?
January 2, 2026 at 9:01 PM
From my @letterboxd.social Film in Review 2025; I watched the first and the latest “Knives Out” movies and, thus, Rian Johnson and JGL (who cameos in both, I guess).

This was the fewest number of films watched since 2018 (just 10).
