I used to do all my sketching (and sometimes my lineart) with this pencil brush, but I switched it up a couple years ago for a change of pace. used it again for the first time in ages yesterday and I like how it turned out :)

“What you’re doing here is valuable, Thea,” Sylvain tells her, as if sensing her simmering self-doubt. “Trust me,” he breathes—far more measured than the usual teasing lilt he puts on the phrase, but persuasive nonetheless. “When I watch you on that stage, I can picture a satisfying end to all this.”

That earnest ‘trust me’ echoes in Dorothea’s head. Trust doesn’t come easily to her—especially with him—but she can see he means it right now. “I’m glad I have someone convinced, at least.”

In the summer before Byleth's return, the Adrestian army wrestles with an aggravating stalemate. Dorothea, traveling as a singer to inspire the troops, pays a visit to Sylvain on the frontlines. They see how war has shaped and changed them, for better or worse—and, together, try to find a glimmer of hope in their dark reality.

She always loves the stupid shit he shows her at the end of the day. He can tell by the way her eyes roll and her mouth twists in a ten-percent frustrated, twenty-percent affectionate, and seventy-percent ‘this is only amusing because I think you’re fit as hell and am also hopelessly in love with you’ kind of way.

Hopelessly? he imagines her teasing. Projecting, much?

Dorothea leaves Sylvain at a Cinnabon for fifteen minutes. He makes a drastic decision.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections
