Buccaneers and buried gold. Whipstaff doth a treasure hold.

I only recently learned that Spear if Destiny has a boss key - F1. And that carried over to later versions of Wolf 3D as well, despite everywhere in it F1 still listed as help.

I was gonna say "too new!," but it's a damn good shutdown sound. 🎵

My response to almost every other news story is "what could possibly go wrong?" like I'm goddamn Bubsy.

What do Kandarian demons mean when they say "join us"? We don't actually know. Maybe they just want to hang out, have a few cold ones, watch a movie and whatnot. We just don't know.

I think I'm yet to a raytraced mirror in a commercial game, and not a tech demo.

In the old days? That's mostly how reflections still work.

The scariest dude in One Battle After Another was the army guy, Sean Penn's 2nd in command. Because he was one of the characters that wasn't a caricature, and his interrogations felt *real*. Well, turns out he's just a real military guy they hired.

Lol. Had a great time watching this. 😂 Didn't feel like 2 and a half hours at all.

One "downgrade" in the remaster of System Shock 2 is the textures in the Body of the Many. They are now painted instead of being digitized from someone's colonoscopy footage.

It's Schrodinger's Duke. He exists only when you look at him.

Something Ive wondered: does that dude perform -all- the same actions you do during the level and you can only see him in one spot? Like, Duke2 is running and gunning like a hamster in a ball until he sees FreeDuke run past for a half second?

Btw, it's another contender for an early WASD-like FPS controls, as they are very Ultima Underworld inspired:
It's SZXC. S and X and for walking forwards and backwards, Z and C properly strafe, and A and D are used for turning. W is for running. The real question is would this be considered an FPS.

You can watch @macaw45.bsky.social play through the entirety of the 3 (!) levels the dreadful "Bram Stoker's Dracula" for DOS (1993) offers over the course of 7 hours:

Nope, no battery. It's a wired mouse.
