"That's the point – the smudge, the rough line, the hesitation - that's what makes my work come alive." - Jim Lee talking about why DC will never use AI storytelling. "AI doesn't dream, feel or make art, it aggregates it."

It’s a "crisis" when immigrants "take jobs away", but "innovation" when machines do. Funny.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Genuinely scary and enraging insight into North America's culture wars. When footage from the Twilight Zone and Fahrenheit 451 bears comparison with the reality, you know we're in trouble.

2 years of pain that never heals, of children who slept and never woke up.
2 years of ashes,of tents,of cold, hunger & fear.
2 years where even the sky can no longer tell the difference between night and blood...
Yet despite the pain, we believe that justice will come, no matter how long it takes.💔

War as a moral metaphor is limited, limiting, and dangerous. By reducing the choices of action to “a war against” whatever-it-is, you divide the world into Me or Us (good) and Them or It (bad) and reduce the ethical complexity and moral richness of our life to Yes/No, On/Off.

Labour rescinded my conference pass over an unspecified "breach of the event code of conduct".

10 minutes later, @owenjones.bsky.social received a similar email.

This is a terrifying, authoritarian crackdown on press freedom.
