For the last week, @kenbensinger.bsky.social and I have been in Altadena, to report on the devastation. But we kept coming back to an Arco gas station, which a group of locals have turned into a beacon of hope with tacos, clothes and community. This is their story: www.nytimes.com/2025/01/15/u...

Trump claims crime at all time high, which is a lie. Homicides were at 5.66 when Trump took office and 7.22 in 2020 when he lost the election. It was back down to 6.61 by 2023 with early data showing big decrease in 2024. The highest murder states are Republican: MS, LA, AL.

On an AA flight that landed at JFK waiting for a gate. Two littles were crying because of their ear pain on landing. After a couple minutes the flight attendant started singing *Twinkle Twinkle little star’, the entire plane joined in, the kids stopped crying, and this is the world I wanna live in.
