87% potato. Proud Angeleno.
Same theory as the "80% rebate on XYZ" relying on me being able to keep it enough together to mail my receipt for XYZ to a PO Box in Bowling Green and then remembering later I need to follow up with XYZ Corp when they "forget" to send my sweet rebate check.

There're gonna be twin struggles that'll take very different, but equally important, energies from elected D officials. The 'fun' parts of arresting & prosecuting Bondi, Miller, et al. But also re-writing all the laws that have really been norms, expanding SCOTUS, re-empowering all the agencies ...

This is the international relations version of ALEC - the right wing think tank that actually writes lots of state and federal legislation for GOP electeds that they pass off as their own. And often get turned in laws!

Makes sense that Putin is Trump's "think tank."

does it include the suspension that allows you to keep riding when you land in a 20-foot deep concrete flood control channel?

spot on Leeds fan impersonation is for the real heads

Absolutely.
I'm also thinking of House R's releasing 20k emails to counteract the 3 that House Oversight Ds posted online. Just crap strategery.

Or, someone just sends the *wrong* attachment which is either a menu from Boston Market OR the file full of all the Trump mentions they yanked out.

I worked in music video biz for years and there was nothing MTV could do.

Once the internet could reliably serve up the exact music video from the exact artist you wanted instantly - why on earth would anyone sit through videos from artists they didn't like in the hopes they liked the *next* one.

It's going to be redacted and scrubbed and ...

What are the odds that these dum dums did a god job hiding all the juicy stuff? They will have left digital trails or forgotten who still has an orig copy.

I'm not saying they aren't gonna try and hide stuff, I'm saying they're gonna suck at it.

I'm a Fulham fan so I'll be hoping we can see Wales, Norway or Denmark.
November 18, 2025 at 11:20 PM
I'm a Fulham fan and glad we kept him, but he's 3x better for his national team than he is for us - ala Lukas Podolski.

I'm hoping that we get some 'less popular' games at my closest stadium (SoFi in Los Angeles) and we can study up on an unfavored team (Ecuador, Cape Verde, etc) and go see them when the prices get lowered 2 days before like they did for the Club World Cup last summer.
November 18, 2025 at 11:11 PM
My kid is gonna be 10 next summer and I had all these plans about taking him places to see games but now, between the prices, the ICE kidnappings and my lack of interest in being "yay, america" ...

it's less appealing.

Saw similar when GavvyBoy first started trolling the WH - no one was anointing him POTUS-elect, but I *did* see a lot of people stating "We shouldn't anoint Newsom as POTUS-elect."
November 17, 2025 at 11:16 PM
Are there really people praising her? I'm not seeing that, but I am not on the Apartheid Site any more. I see lots of folks doing the Nicholson/Dep[arted nodding thing as MAGA tears itself apart, but that's not the same as 'praise.'

Is the fan base aging and thus fewer young people interested in the slow/arcane game as is happening with baseball in US?

I was thinking more of GB/Australia. I imagine India and Pakistan are a different story.
November 17, 2025 at 11:11 PM
does it, when you consider national incomes/GDP and rule out all the british empire-derived sports that are niche with little competition - like Aussie rules (obv) but also rugby and cricket?

I read something about how US successes in olympic sports are almost all bc of the population/wealth.
November 17, 2025 at 11:08 PM
I wonder - is cricket suffering the same 'old man-ification' that baseball is? I know they have that faster version now, but cricket still seems to have a lot of that 'this all made more sense when this game was invented, back before electricity' vibe as baseball

The hard part for generating a more European model of youth devel requires MLS/US clubs to spin off *way* more revenue that can then be spent on sifting through 13 year old left backs AND at the same time these US clubs must choose to spend that money when no other US teams/sports do it that way.
November 17, 2025 at 11:00 PM
Uswnt 'title IX' advantage is going away more quickly each year. Outside NW Europe, the overlap with 'our country is soccer crazy' and 'our culture doesn't think girls should sweat' has all the overlap. Seems to be ebbing - see Spain. In a decade will girls pay-to-playing in US be more of an issue?
