Capitalism disables people constantly—through war, prisons, workplace injury, pollution, denial of care—then blames disabled people for being “unproductive.” It creates the conditions for debility, then moralizes about dependency. It’s how the system protects its own value logic.

"From the moment you are born, the great machine begins to notch its teeth into you, measuring the span of your usefulness against the curve of your eventual collapse."
@reallandsend.bsky.social what an opening to a 🔥 essay on disability as a political relation produced by capitalism.

To take disability seriously is to understand how capital constructs & manages life, justifies abandonment, austerity & slow death. Read the whole essay here

People talk about “benefits culture” like it’s some scam.
You know what the real scandal is?
That you have to fight, cry, collapse and prove you’re disabled again and again just to survive.
Labour were supposed to be better, not worse.

Always remember: this is a crime being committed by Israel, a Western ally armed and backed throughout by the United States and Britain.

This was (as always) a fantastic and timely episode. Made me think deeply about the injustices of labour in healthcare and the artificial and unhelpful capital-driven divide between those who give and receive care. Highly recommended for anyone interested in health justice.
