A nice obituary for Alice, who was going to be recognized as one of The Post 50.

I hate that we now have to live without this phenomenal woman.

FB is officially advertising foot porn. It is not called that, and I am the LAST person to throw faux moral outrage at this, but... FB is getting Interesting as it evolves into its form. This is why I love being object oriented.

I’m not making a nuanced argument I’m just saying people are tacky
While I agree that many folk lack art education that would make their tastes more nuanced and diverse, my argument against AI isn't that it looks "bad", it's that its entire purpose is to look "good enough" to justify that humans shouldn't be allowed to do art, and do something else "productive."
a lot of people have bad taste and don't care that AI art looks bad because they are not aware that it looks bad

Look Ma! I'm on the Internet! www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmxz...

It's great to be in conversation with so many perspectives on work/AI/Access. I'd be happy to do it again.

I'm presenting today at #SCMS2025, if you're around, and what to hear me discoursing about queer crip epistomologies of sex, death and shit... complete with A/V material! 🤓 Really though I excited to be in community with others. Join us! It's gonna be fun.

His book The Audible Past has had a profound impact on my own research. What a terrible loss to the academic community!
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Jonathan Sterne, an extraordinary scholar whose groundbreaking work transformed the fields of sound studies, media theory, and the cultural study of technology.

Today was a good day. I am recovering well from a (minor but necessary) toe amputation. AND today is my 35th birthday. My last year of youth—according to Nielsen demographics. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I am grateful for lovely peers, friends and colleagues. On to the next year, and more criptastic adventures. lol

I applied for student loan forgiveness in the summer of 2021. This morning I learned that my loans have been officially and completely discharged. To quote several friends, it is great to come into 2025 with significantly less debt over my head. Whatever else happens, today is a good day.

Me talking about Bluesky: The "echo chamber" criticism is undergirded by two common internet fallacies, that X reflects genuine mainstream discourse and that social media is only useful when users are confronted at all times with social and political conflict

Normal person: Hey man how's it going

I am convinced that without ready access to Dragon Professional Individual (we do not talk about the Home version. It is a scam. It sits on the throne of lies...) A whole subsection of disabled/Crip academia would collapse.

It's me. I am talking about me. I would collapse.

That Feeling When™ you've been writing about queercrip podcasts as a viable alternative to ableist power structures AND you realize in retrospect that said chapter heavily features both MOM & DAD as initialisms.... Totally intentional dear reader. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
