Every detail about this story is absolutely insane but even in its broadest sense it is wild that a guy known for collaborating with white nationalists, promoting Pizzagate, spreading foreign state disinformation -- the list goes on and on -- is acting as a henchman for Pentagon officials.
We discovered a Goodreads page linked to the email address of a top Pentagon official featuring pornographic books about “Asian wife sharing.”

The story gets wilder from there.
I asked the Pentagon about Pete Hegseth's mentor. Then the threats started.
Journalism in the second Trump administration gets personal.

Meanwhile, innocent non-white folks are being harassed and kidnapped. Split from their families. Sent to random other countries.

When they show their priorities, believe them.

And we’ve also got drag queens raising money for good causes as well.

Meanwhile others are withholding food and health from millions of people.

People who need medical help ASAP or they’ll die are not going to fucking care. They’re going to the closest fucking ER!

What is wrong with them? Thinking people will price out what hospital is cheaper as they’re bleeding out?!

Some of us remembered the before times and voted accordingly.
Thinking of that time when my dad, himself a doctor, was thrown by a horse on a trail ride. Punctured his spleen, internal bleeding, got him to an ER just in time. He lived another 20 years. With two hours delay, probably wouldn't have.

We rushed to *nearest* ER. Not comparison-shop for ER prices.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

I’m thinking of the time I had to have my gall bladder removed. I didn’t have time to comparison shop, but I did have time to ask how much it would cost my insurance. No one could tell me. This is not just because things can go wrong, but because the hospital, doctors, etc. charge separately …

Between Medicaid cuts and physician burnout we are heading towards a collapse of primary care in the U.S., along with a mass exodus from public health and science.

And I don't blame doctors. They didn't get into medicine to spend their hours refuting crackpot Facebook theories.

I think about this quote from @georgemonbiot.bsky.social a lot:

“The idea that some people may freely poison others is one of the most astonishing but least contested aspects of modern life.”
