wrapped up Seiken Densetsu 3 for the first (!) time after initially playing it years and years ago and it’s still such a visual accomplishment for the humble Super Famicom, just absurd scenes they were pulling off just as 32-bit systems were establishing themselves

thought I’d give the EN translation of the Saturn Grandia a whirl, and one thing I’d forgotten in the quarter century or so since I last played it was just how richly-detailed the interior scenes are for a fully-3D RPG of this era

OH MY GOD the final boss music is different!!! and it’s pretty awesome
Gotta say in Xenosaga its bonkers that during exploration, dungeons, ships/towns there is never any music just the sound of fans and motors and shit, there’s no boss battle theme, it’s like they blew all the budget on the cinematics and could only afford to pay yasunori mitsuda for like 5 songs
