Imagine if when we invaded Iraq, three years in we only took a sliver of the country at the cost of 800,000 men.

Would the conventional wisdom be that we are winning? No? Then why do some think Russia is?

PLEASE read this one. Kinda required reading. If you agree, which I hope you do, print in color and magnetically attach to your refrigerator. It is marvelous and very clear to all who visit: this is what we stand for. PERIOD.

My 401K down. My grocery bills up. GDP down. Tariffs looming. While Trump and his cronies loot the government and make themselves even more obscenely wealthy. And it's only been 100 days under this administration. We can't afford much more of this. #TheCostOfTrump

I really do hope this app becomes the replacement of X. Twitter was fine before it became a cesspool of hate and propaganda. Political debates are fine. I encourage them, but Musk's X has become a petri dish for propaganda and misinformation under the guise of free speech. It's shameful.

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

I could not sit silent while an elected official who spreads hate & lies that are getting trans people killed pretends to care about the future of the Internet. So I spoke up during Rep Nancy Mace's speech at the Project Liberty Summit & I would do it again www.fightforthefuture.org/news/2024-11...

This is entirely true. A lot of the high value posters have moved here, people who intelligently discuss important topics, report on news that major media outlets are often so slow on, and whats more... the trolls, hate comments, and slurs are a tiny fraction of what they are on Elon's twitter.
Others have noted it but I will too: The big reason Bluesky is so hot right now is that the people who add value to social media - the frequent posters in specific fields - are here now, talking to each other and creating the "spectator value" that draws users and attention.
Twitter’s heir apparent isn’t X or Threads — it’s Bluesky

Bluesky's explosive growth to 21 million users has pushed the company's 20-person team into "firefighting mode," says COO Rose Wang.

Dear @bsky.app ,
You need a "turn off repost " option like that other place.
