I guess MDPI vs. pre-print server probably, 6-7? Either way are probably about the same. I published one of my weakest thesis chapters there, but I can't say it has resulted in any kind of research existence for the work. I probably wouldn't publish there.

I kind of refuse to acknowledge it, but what do I know! I'm a Great Lakes bowfin guy and it was one of the few scientific names that I could remember (and spell).
