Hey Bluesky! Just wanted to share that I’ve finally started my substack. I’ve been thinking about it forever. I’ve launched with a reflection on train journeys, London, and being myself.

Hope to see you over there!

My @uonucu.bsky.social ballot has arrived. My husband is also a union rep so no ADHD forgetting allowed. Voted and walked it to the postbox right away. Obie is ready to sit on a picket line and wag his tail at the cars if needs be.

If you are looking for the most soft, straight to DVD rom com but in a book but there happen to be dragons, I can recommend this. I imagine it’s marked as cosy contemporary romantasy but it’s much more like pet cafe owner vibes with pet owner and the pet - a dragon. Light summer blanket of a book.

I love how every few months Gordon Brown pops up to say “child poverty is bad, we should do something about that” and every few months Tony Blair pops up to say “we need a state-issued ID card that will use AI to train drone police officers”

My doom distraction is learning about plants. I’ve been committed to my garden (properly) since February and it’s so striking how many more butterflies, moths and birds we already have in the garden for me turning the soil, weeding, and adding some insect friendly seedlings and veg!

Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare.

The Lush display was nice...

In the words of my friend: "Wild how ten years ago I might have thought it was a bit pandery, but Jesus Christ, these days trans peeps deserve some pandering".

It’s DOUBLY important if it’s because they are pursuing ANTI equalities policy. The pro-discrimination lobby are noisy and rich and organised.

If you can engage with people doing the work, it’s important to name the reasons you are rejecting Labour (if you are).

The “ordinary voter” has to tell the party. The press won’t do it.
