So what I'm saying here, is that technology stays around, but it stops getting used in stupid ways (or the stupid ways decline anyways). Generative AI is mostly a stupid way to use AI.

There are so many trends, especially in tech, that I was told I'd effectively be forced to adopt and then never did.

My things worked fine before, if I don't want to use something I can just keep not using it. It's not incumbent on me to change, it's incumbent on tech to prove it's worth using.

Yes exactly - it's definitely something anyone that's ever written about climate change recognises. I'm always wincing when I see that giddy news footage on TV or pictures of kids in fountains during a heatwave here in the UK. We can't help ourselves

Sure, that's the only reason people had children lol

Civilised society calls them rights, protected from hoarding.

Throughout history it's not like anyone ever went "oh I can't afford children so I'll just not have them"

By contributing relative to our wealth, we could make sure these things remain affordable for all. But the hoarders are winning.

The positioning of these things as luxuries target than the basics of life is obscene

What I'm learning is that the "centre-left" media may be starting to look perhaps a little silly – especially when all of those with memories compare this fartage to their coverage of the truly great antisemite of the 21st century, which was, of course, Jeremy Corbyn (/sarcasm, obviously)
