Unlike our previous games, Doomed Stars was made in the Godot engine which had its own added learning curves. I do like being able to edit multiple scenes at once though!

Created an intro cutscene for the project's menu, and I'm pretty pleased with the result. The interesting part was trying to convert from mp4 to ogv, since that's what godot supports, and it's not a very popular format. #indiedev #dev #gamedev

RUDEMENTARY HAND ANIMATION BAY BEE
seriously tho, unity's input system takes a lot of getting used to, but i am liking the animator a lot so far.

Still working on learning unity stuff, so definitely expect more unity screenshots. If you unity vets have tips, feel free to throw them at me, like you'd do with bricks, tomatoes of similar objects.

You can now freely move your items around your inventory, and tile lighting is a lot more performant. Finding blocks that will keep things lit is going to be important, because night is pitch black! I think crafting will come next.

More work on inventory and tile lighting
You can move your items around in you inventory freely now, and some tiles will emit light, which helps out a lot at night.

Created an inventory menu like minecraft and terraria has. Not as complicated as I thought it'd be.

I attached the wrong video to my last post. Ended up using death animations instead of ragdolling.

I've been having a sneaking suspicion that I've been doing things the hard way. A lot of people I've talked to seem to think that unity is better at 3d than godot, so I'm going to give unity a shot and see how I like it.

Feeling pretty good about the state of this enemy. They're not very smart, though, so I need to do some research on how to make them a little more engaging to fight. If you have any advice or resources, reply and let me know!

Somehow I don't think this is how ragdolling is supposed to work.
