They are unable to conceive of things having a value other than monetary, and they are oblivious to what goes into the culture they consume. The sense of communing with someone else’s creativity appears to be totally alien to them.

OMB has deleted the reference on its website to the 2019 law that mandates back pay to all federal workers who were not paid during a government shutdown. This is like when babies play hide and seek but only cover their eyes because if they can’t see you, you can’t see them.

Oh I’m definitely not familiar with aristocratic houses (though tourism can enter them to an extent), but the *Vatican*? (And I totally agree about Mean Girls in vestments!)

I think that’s definitely part of it. I don’t think it would have worked without the *sumptuous* cinematography. But it also offers a glimpse into a very secretive space.
