Great idea

The Charlie Kirk Gun Safety Act - which would require nationwide background checks and/or purchase permitting, Extreme Risk laws, secure gun storage requirements, and a ban on Stand Your Ground - would be a great idea right about now.

"Brent Chapman can see again after doctors pulled out one of his teeth, flattened it, drilled a hole in it, placed a lens inside and implanted the tooth in one of his eyes."

Be aware: there are pictures.

TIL that for some people with irreparably damaged corneas, you can pull one of their teeth, drill a hole in it, install an artificial lens, sew it into their cheek (so tissue attaches), then pull it out and stick it in their damaged eye, and ... it works fine!?! www.nbcboston.com/news/health/...
Man, 34, is no longer blind after tooth is implanted in eye in 'crazy' surgery
Tooth-in-eye surgery sounds like science fiction, but it can help people with severely damaged corneas see again. A patient and his doctors describe what it's like.

Gun violence is an American scourge and the obvious solution is regulation of weapons of war, like in other countries. You don’t need a sniper rifle. And if you tell me it’s people not guns who kill people, fine, then stop selling weapons to violent people. Do something.

The brilliant @lmbd1418.bsky.social has suggested people write to the Home Secretary Yvette Cooper re: my case. If you could spare five minutes, she's created a draft letter which you can use to send to [email protected]. I appreciate everyone's support. ❤️

I’m featured in the @washingtonpost.com !!

Most #autistic people are accustomed to “masking,” […and] will do so more when there is an increased sense of social hostility. “It’s more important than ever that Jo is her authentic self,” Schillace said.

Fighting back through ♿️ representation!
In writing a detective with autism, a novelist investigated herself
Speaking to The Post about her new cozy mystery, “The Dead Come to Stay,” Brandy Schillace explains how her Jo Jones novels helped her come out as autistic.

I had to step away from the computer for a few hours to clear my head. I came back to a slew of messages from people saying that they've written to the Home Secretary on my behalf. My goodness! Bluesky! You really come through for people at their lowest moments. Thank you for everything. 💙

There’s a dead body under the house and a mystery to solve. You had me at “dead.” Where can I download this so I can interview you on my channel this time? Can I add you to my Facebook messenger group so we can get the preorders in?

That was a great book club! I’m so excited when we can meet readers and discuss our books. With nonfiction there’s less of a concern for spoilers as with detective novels. It was great to see you. I hope everything gets sorted out for you soon.
