Nah, I've seen people's entire business / album campaigns buried for weeks for doing one post and have experienced it myself on meta platforms.

Also had people mass reporting my newsletter in an orchestrated manner after one newsletter about Gaza and the boycotts last March. Hard to get out of spam

Mostly, I know that a lot of work is being done off of public platforms. There is so much that people are doing behind the scenes that we have no idea about and I honestly don't think calling anyone out for not saying enough helps anything or any movement.

Whilst I completely agree with the principle of what you're saying, I think Chris is a bad example because he's someone who stands up for so many things and works within the very far edges of the BBC's editorial guidelines and we saw what happened to Lineker for saying far less

Personally, I think there's a huge gulf between someone issues statements on social media, and what they truly think and feel. Especially when they're campaigning on many fronts.

Would it be of benefit to the climate movement or neurodivergence awareness if Chris was shadowbanned on Insta?

Having seen first hand the abuse Charlotte Church was on the receiving end of, the death threats, the smears, the open letters to get her removed from Glastonbury in 2024... I'm not sure Chris getting himself sacked from the BBC would have saved 20k children.
