My day began with a meeting with Laurene from the Lothian Association of Youth Clubs. We discussed the gaps in after-school club provision in Edinburgh South West and explored ways we can collaborate to improve the situation.

It was a pleasure to welcome Louise Sandher-Jones MP to Edinburgh South West today. Louise served as an Army Intelligence Officer, and is a veteran of the War in Afghanistan. She now holds the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Veterans and People. She is ideal for the job.

Today, Aldi demonstrated real commitment to Edinburgh South West by listening to the concerns I raised. They have now joined all other supermarkets in the area and will not sell fireworks here.

By working together, these supermarkets are helping to keep our residents and emergency services safe.
