When I was in grad school and my wife was staying home with the kids, we received SNAP assistance. Likely many people you know have also, or previously have.

Going to the courts to try to get out of feeding people is some next level cartoon villainy.

The generals and admirals at Quantico today should be forgiven if they walked out of the auditorium and wondered: What on earth is wrong with the commander in chief?

And nothing, but nothing, explains our politics more these days than status envy, resentment, and perceived grievances. But "we didn't teach kids to think good so now they love Trump" isn't really the issue.
But again, it's tempting to think it's education - because you can *fix* that. /5x

The witch hunts of 1400-1780 and today's misinformation crisis have striking parallels.

Both were fueled by new media technologies that allowed false information to spread rapidly and widely. buff.ly/6RFALyJ By Julie Walsh @wellesley.edu

Here’s the thing, and corporate media won’t talk about it because they’re complicit in enabling it, but let’s be clear about something.

The people mocking Mamdani for eating with his hands have no issue with white people eating burgers chicken & fries with their hands

If you’re buying a washer/dryer, get the largest drum size you can afford that will fit in your laundry space. You will never regret having extra space, but you will curse a too small machine that requires you to do extra loads.
If you’re over 30, quote this with some life advice 🤌🏼

My Dad taught me a while ago that it’s important to know what you stand for than what you are against. So if you/someone is “against DEI” they need to instead say that they are for “Sameness, Disparity, and Exclusion.” Doesn’t quite have the same ring does it?

I just want to say for the record that when the history books are written centuries from now, I believe the election of Donald Trump in a free and fair election in 2024 will go down as one of the most senseless and self-destructive own goals in human history

The central authority of Trump II is the time honored philosophy of schoolyard bullies everywhere. A blend “Because I said so” and “Who’s gonna stop me?”
All of this is teeing up what some legal experts worry could be a constitutional crisis. Or, to put it simply: what happens when the Trump administration blatantly defies the courts? www.democracydocket.com/analysis/wha...

I would like to make an argument that Trump is taking a "great man" approach to the presidency. What does that mean? 😱 I'm afraid that it is not good.

First, Hegel: “The great men in history are those whose own particular aims contain the substantial will that is the will of the World Spirit..."

When someone tells you they are “Against DEI” please ask them to restate their opinion using the actual words, “I’m against diversity, equity, and inclusion?” Cause I’m guessing they’re really angry about other words they don’t wanna say out loud.

Any Trump voter who looks at the last three weeks and says “This isn’t what I voted for” is either a liar or an idiot. He’s doing exactly what he said he’d do.

(I say this as someone who is an expert in my tiny part of my field) One of the great myths of our time is that if you’re great at one thing then you must be great at everything. Not only is that untrue, it’s almost always the opposite. Ex. The most brilliant person I know also sucks at arithmetic.

If I thought Trump had a plan, which he 100% does not, the only one that makes sense is he’s going for a record for the most impeachable offenses in history that didn’t result in removal. I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that we’ve averaged one scandal a day that should have ended his presidency

A question I’d love to ask Trump voters/supporters after this past week. Do you think the President should have these powers, or do you only think Donald Trump should? Cause that tells me a lot about you.

Making sense of Trumpworld is a lot easier when you realize the entire maga movement is coming from a place of fear. Fear of change, being left behind, questioning any aspect of yourself, etc. They are terrified of pretty much everything.
