Los Angeles has, over the last 15 years, passed several higher taxes to fund government housing and transit improvements. Our mayor is a former congresswoman. People are turning out because heavily armed federal agents are raiding places and the administration is lying claiming mass unrest.

Los Angeles has, over the last 15 years, passed several higher taxes to fund government housing and transit improvements. Our mayor is a former congresswoman. People are turning out because heavily armed federal agents are raiding places and the administration is lying claiming mass unrest.

He doesn’t want peace and order, he wants a reason to send in the troops, and then he wants a reason to continually escalate the violence. I’m sure he’s giddy at the idea of using live rounds against protesters, unleashing tanks and helicopters against them.

The thing that fascists want is to commit violence. A lot of people have noted that the “ideology” of fascism is incoherent, and it is, because it’s really just an ever-evolving series of pretexts to engage in and celebrate violence.
