The emergence of Trumpism 2.0 marks the end of a New Deal politics that created the greatest era of wealth generation, scientific discovery, and artistic expression in human history. In its place we will have the Raw Deal, which is a return to realpolitik, with all of its obvious implications.

One difference between dems and republicans: more than 65% of IRA dollars flowed to republican-led districts. Meanwhile, Trump wants to deny transportation funding to dem states.

The opportunity costs of Trump’s funding freeze are astronomical. State and local government officials as well as nonprofit administrators spent far too much of their time this week trying to develop response strategies. This is time that could and should be spent advancing their missions.
