Is that Tom Derenick on art?

This is about as arty as a mid-budget comic book spectacle can be, and still stands as an astonishing outlier even for 90s cinema...a film that is unabashedly BIZARRE and HIGH ENERGY, made with passion and love, and with a middle finger raised in defiant protest.

...punk inspired cartoon aesthetic on screen.

Both sets and costumes are DENSE with detail, color, and texture, and Talalay and editor James R. Symons keep the pace positively FRANTIC, to keep up with Lori Petty's manic energy, as she EMBODIES the character of Tank Girl.

Talalay worked with John Waters, and that chaotic, camp, sensibility permeates the film, which does not confirm itself with reality, interweaving Jamie Hewlett's comic book pages into the film as a montage of transitions, while Hardwicke and costume designer Arianne Phillips work to match his...

He's summoned as a Caster in the opening of GRAND ORDER, but I think he's also summoned as a Caster in one of the 3 HEAVEN'S FEEL movies, because that has a time-loop mechanic with slight variations to each loop.

Some Heroic Spirits can be summoned in different classes depending on their legends and the stuff they're known for, though they might be stronger or weaker depending on how associated they are with that stuff.

(In FAKE, Heracles is summoned as an Archer, but is usually a Berserker.)

Similarly there Caster Cu Chulainn and Lancer Cu Chulainn.

What's really fun to me is that Caster is aware of the Lancer, and remarks that he's less effective as a Caster because his legend is stronger with a spear, and that the Lancer him is better.

(I love Cu Chulainn.)

Jack the Ripper in FAKE is able to freely change his form and is quite a bit more powerful because since he has no real agreed upon form, he can be literally ANYTHING in peoples imaginations.

He wasn't even summoned using a legit artifact, but a replica, because his legend is strong enough alone.

But, yeah...I like the idea that the Summoned Spirits can take on different forms under different circumstances based on how people visualize them.

Like King Richard I having an alternate form as Lionheart, which is a monster made up of his sins, burning in the fires of purgatory.

The other Jack the Ripper was also not the actual Jack the Ripper, but the aggregate of those that he killed (or something? That Jack the Ripper is the only thing I dislike about FATE/STAY APOCRYPHA because it's a weak justification for a very horny design...though I do appreciate the broader idea).

...FATE/STAY APOCRYPHA; when summoned outside of Romania, he will manifest as Dracula, which is the stronger public concensus, but within Romania he manifests as Vlad the Impaler, a cultural hero, and despises how the world views him as this monster of fiction.

He EXISTS because the five bodies serve as evidence of his existence, but since the public consciousness has no clear visualization of Jack the Ripper, he's a formless, ethereal, spirit...the abstract MYSTERY of Jack the Ripper.

They did the same thing with Vlad the Impaler/Dracula in...

I really do not understand this take on Alexander Dumas, but I do like it when FATE/STAY has authors summoned as the Caster Class.

They did a pretty nice fake-out with the summoning of the Saber. It looked like it would be Arthur Pendragon again, but instead it was Richard the Lionheart, which brings some interesting novelty for me.

He still uses Excalibur tho.
