This arrived yesterday, and I started watching it, so as a fun project, I thought it'd be interesting to do a small review of each episode as I watch them in order, since I've never seen all of them, and never in order!

I'll update this thread as I go.

Hopefully not a 5 year mission! #StarTrek
"Why are you crying?"

"I'm sad.

'I think being hated to this extent by my sister is getting to me."

Poor spectrum coded Ichiyo. ;___;

This issue is that the US WILL do these things, tho, because the people in charge at FIFA and the Olympic committee will LET them, because of money.

No consideration of safety...no bravery...just money.
We cannot possibly host the World Cup during this madness. Same with the Olympics.

I saw an interview with Giamatti about STARFLEET ACADEMY and why he likes playing Nus Braka recently. Basically he said, "I'm asked to play a lot of quiet people lately, but I come from theater, and I miss playing LOUD and BROAD."

This made me remember how much I love LOUD, ANGRY, Paul Giamatti.

This is exactly right. The white kids and adults I know who know the true history of the United States and Colonialism don't feel bad or guilty; they feel angry, in community with their peers of other races, and empowered to push for change. Enlightened white people are dangerous to the hegemony.
This is my song. “Those are the real stakes — not white children feeling guilty, but white children armed with truth, history and a righteous desire to work with others to change the world.”

Renee Good, they are increasingly stopping this observation, breaking car windows and pulling observers out, in one case unconscious, merely for watching what they are doing.
The country should be alarmed they won't stop with us - but know that while this is traumatizing to any good person you know

Yeah, I'm sort of interested because it's been a long time since these guys made a movie together. If Kevin Smith was in it somehow, then the universe might be fully healed!

I wonder what it could be...
Australians are deciding USA is not a place to visit… oddly they still are going to Canada. Almost like there is something specific about the US..

I'm sure Adobe will take it out on their users. What else could they possibly do? Give people a reason to use their software? Ditch the subscription model that made everyone hate them in the first place?

He's not doing that shit either, tho.
There’s one line governors can’t cross...and one strategy that hits harder than the Guard.

“Can’t a Governor Activate the National Guard to End This BS?!”
Yes...but not the way you think. Here's what a governor can do that hits harder

Case in point...ARENA (1989)!

The premise FUCKS...BODY AND SOUL in space! Some wild practical effects! A ton of BABLYON 5 and DEEP SPACE 9 actors!

It's 'goodness' depends on your tolerance for trash...mine is quite high! :P

It's a Charles Band joint, so it'll be a mixed bag. Some great practical effects from John Carl Buechler, tho!

This is a bit of a cheat, because it's a Modern Trailer, but I like these as an exercise in showing how powerful an editor is shaping our perception of a thing.

(Tho I really do love FORBDDEN WORLD. It's really impressive for 80s Corman sci-fi slop, and LOOKS amazing!)

ORIGIN: SPIRITS OF THE PAST has a BANGER opening scene, and some really beautiful animation, but ultimately it's slow and meandering, and you can't help but feel that it's aping stuff like NAUSICAA and GREEN LEGEND RAN a bit to closely.

All the best parts are in the trailer.

I love it when these dudes admit they're fucking pussies in public.
boo hoo cracker nobody cares

It's actually really refreshing to see people finally just saying "NO."
🇫🇷🇺🇸 Macron responds to Trump:

No intimidation or threat will influence us, whether in Ukraine, in Greenland, or anywhere else in the world.

Tariff threats are unacceptable and have no place in this context.
January 18, 2026 at 2:36 AM
Probably not! ^__^;;;

But it's a film that I like, because it's a weird European, HEAVY METAL-esque, sci-fi movie with Vin Diesel Vin Dieseling it up, and some really beautiful visuals and a few solid set pieces. It's stylish sci-fi trash in the way that I like.

The basketball head-kill is fucking amazing, and that final scare at the end where the shark toothed monster BB comes out of Kristy Swanson is just awesome, even if it's stupid nonsense.

I also love Swanson's utterly BIZARRE performance and how she keeps her hands as BB's claws throughout!

I only saw DEADLY FRIEND for the first time a year or two ago, and I really liked it. It's not a GREAT movie, but it's WEIRD in ways that are pleasing to me, and I like that Craven was trying to do different stuff. Weirdly, the horror parts of it he was forced to put in are the best parts of it.
January 18, 2026 at 2:26 AM
I loves this.

BABYLON A.D. is a big reason why I can't bring myself to abandon Vin Diesel.

This was a guy that did he level best to make HEAVY METAL style weird European sci-fi whenever he could. Sometimes that was successful, and sometimes it wasn't, but I always appreciate that he made the attempt.

I actually like this movie, but the trailer is definitely better than the end product.

"It is Anubis."
January 18, 2026 at 2:10 AM
"The performance of these two bodies is even. But to match Anubis, Jehuty lacks one thing...a program to bring out the full performance of Jehuty.

'That depends on the skill of the Runner."
