This arrived yesterday, and I started watching it, so as a fun project, I thought it'd be interesting to do a small review of each episode as I watch them in order, since I've never seen all of them, and never in order!

Basically, the fact that she is compelled to lie is at odds with her character, which causes such emotional distress that she cannot be an effective Gnosia.
It's a pretty interesting twist on the whole Internal Invader mechanic, because those usually don't come with an existential conflict.

In some ways this is both intelligent and insidious, because it means that the Gnosia are indistinguishable from humans...even to people that knew them before infection, because the changes in their behavior are SLIGHT instead of noticeable (like, say, the Body Snatchers, who become emotionless).

I saw an interview with Giamatti about STARFLEET ACADEMY and why he likes playing Nus Braka recently. Basically he said, "I'm asked to play a lot of quiet people lately, but I come from theater, and I miss playing LOUD and BROAD."
