This reminds me of a long-form, book-length poem called “There is a Deer in the Winter Hayfield.” I have it here somewhere and cannot remember the poet’s name, but she’s mid-Atlantic (WV or VA), I believe. Terrifying and also capable of eliciting awe.

I have goals for next semester that include being a better workshop-mate for the group. And also knowing what to submit to workshop and what to withhold and work on else-wise.
