Rat-infested Dartmoor prison may never reopen, pays Prince William’s Duchy of Cornwall £1.5m a year. Public purse pays cost of upkeep.

The Duchy owns many assets; exempt from corporation tax, and capital gains tax

Any chance of UK Govt looking at this welfare ... thought not.

Remember when former UK Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng & Health Secretary Matt Hancock demanded £10,000 a day to further the interests of a South Korean company?

This is still possible. Too many MPs chase money rather than serving the people.

Must ban second jobs.

Austerity red flavour, coming down the pipe.

Batton down the hatches, this fucking imbecile is gonna crash us again.

Austerity has been discredited & 330,000+ deaths prove its deadly impact.

Yet benefit cuts are being briefed & disabled people are again made to pay the price for “calming” the markets.

Austerity with a red rosette is still austerity.

This isn’t the “change” people voted for.

In 1970 the richest 1% had about 4x the wealth of the average person, and the richest 0.01% had about 30x.

Now the richest 1% have 12x the wealth of the average person, and the richest 0.01% have 1000x.

This is the problem.

5.2m children, 36% of UK children, live in poverty.

Ending the two-child benefit cap would lift 500,000 out of poverty, cost £2.5bn.

Taxing capital gains at the same rate as wages raises £14bn.

Govts that gave £895bn QE to speculators, can also end poverty.

Child Poverty % (children living in households below the minimum wage)

Denmark 2.4%
Finland 3.2%
Norway 3.6%
Sweden 3.6%

The UK 32.1%

All four of those countries have child benefits, paid by taxing the rich, that make it almost impossible for a child to be in poverty.
