This one got me today. When did they announce a water feature with 1000 dancing fountains?

The gondola at the San Diego Zoo is well worth the extra couple bucks. If they are eventually going to extend the subway to Morningside, having a seasonal gondola pickup would be a great transit option.

Saw a paramedic block the bike lane at Yonge and Bloor last week while responding to a moped driver being hit by a car.

Nervous watching all the bikes having to ride on the road and really hammered home the need for fundamental modernization changes in the training of all public servants.

Find the email or text complaining about them. Otherwise it's 23 tickets amongst millions.

Truly incredible stuff. It seems like common sense but so much work to make it happen!

I was the Planner for this file, working with a great team. Positive results after only 1 year of occupancy. Particularly pleased to see the reference to the vegetable garden as part of healing. One of the challenges was ensuring reasonable amenity space for residents.

Toronto ER costs, visits by frequent patients reduced with new housing model | CBC News
The Dunn House, a long-term housing project with easy access to healthcare, is helping 48 of Toronto's most-frequent visitors to the ER. The program has greatly reduced the number of hospital visits a...

🤘🏼I wrote about sweating the small stuff. The city parks dept answered city council’s request to look into destructive practices w a shrug. That’s not good enough. Total park reform is needed & needs to be an election platform. If Chow passes on it, someone else surely will. Pls read & share. 🙏🏼🤘🏼
Shawn Micallef: How Toronto can take a lesson from Van Halen, and learn to sweat the small stuff
Anybody who travels this city knows large vehicles are routinely in parks. It’s disrespectful to Torontonians, a scandalous waste of money, and intrusive to those trying to enjoy the outdoor

Can understand why these are ignored. Somewhere like Bloor W. where the infrastructure changes every block, you are looking everywhere to maintain any concept of safe driving.

Bloor and Bedford is a great example of too much signage with the new bike lane signaling (which itself is great).

I think there's enough of us in University-Rosedale that could make a real push for a change of management in Oct 2026

I live by Christie Pits, which is such a rad park. But, like so much of Toronto, it’s depressing how much better it could be if our representatives* gave a shit about the people who live here.

*Not including @jessicabellto.bsky.social who is wonderful!

Deserves a glass atrium like the Portrait Gallery! Create a free indoor gathering space, generate revenue with private rentals in the evening.

The city could have ticketed 50+ cars on my two-block walk this afternoon.

At least 4 cars blocking Bloor/Avenue, Bloor/Bay each time I crossed. Would certainly give us more $$

Everyone should write their mayor and councillor across Ontario. they need to hear from you. They are often just windsocks and a few constituents making noise will get their attention

The speeders have their attention currently.

Take a few minutes and look up who yours are.

I can't find a statement from my mayor so I have written to him. Hope he signs on.

One Battle After Another has been getting a lot of “best movie of the decade” talk, and I’m inclined to agree but I’m curious — what’s the competition?

The awful feeling when you accidentally lift your hand to a driver when they "let" you cross the street at an intersection 🫠🫠🫠

Dismantling the mob of organized "rep" sports in favour of diversified recreation could keep kids local. Different times but Norway is a great example of a complete change of system that could be paired with localization.

Their Liberalism only goes so far when they don't see it benefiting them anymore. Instead of working towards those changes, they get caught up in things like road bikes speeding in High Park (it's every conversation these days).

Outside of vocal minority, I think we've built a general apathy towards community building; in particular with city mandates.

I look at my nephews, driven to all their activities because they aren't available in their neighborhood. They need multiple changes at once to change behavior.

One of those insane things where it should be obvious that a school = kids and families living around the school even when school isn't in session.

Why wouldn't we want drivers to go slow all the time?
dylan89.bsky.social
Drivers and Uber users have become so enamored by WAZE and the zig-zag through every tiny street that they want everyone to do it.

You want to fix traffic. Start by limiting map apps from using side streets as shortcuts.
dylan89.bsky.social
Toronto's streets have been imbalanced towards the driver for decades. This isn't enough

Remove street parking
Transit priority on streetcar routes
Cycling on main roads

We deserve to use the same space as everyone else. Why don't you drive down the side street, or take the subway, or use a bike?

Toronto's active transportation network is a patchwork. Bike lanes exist in some areas, but they often end abruptly or never connect to one another. This leaves riders stranded and fuels conflicts with drivers.

Using Avenue Road as an example of where nearby safer parallel routes is tone deaf. It's a slap in the face to the Avenue Road Safety Coalition which advocated for improving safety on that road for years, while there were three cyclists killed there over the past ten years! (4/5)

I liked the idea that sometimes the timing just doesn't work for the one who is meant to be. Was a big college show for us and it really resonated.

Seriously, folks - GO to second hand /consignment / antique / thrift shops, search maxsold auctions and fb marketplace.

There is SO MUCH quality solid wood furniture on offer for low prices, along with art, lamps, rugs etc.

It will last years. Wood finishes are in again.
