Hi new folks. Last year I rewrote my book Stroll: Psychogeographic Walking Tours of Toronto. Added like 30000 more words too. My (Toronto) life's work. A very good present to give! Bookstores or direct from Coach House or...

It's a firehouse of it but every 10th thing elicits a vocal "holy shit"

Sustained front pages in the star on greenbelt. But you reinforce my point: it's the voter.

Perhaps, but it's there, in the open. It frustrates me when people think somebody will save them. They have to save themselves.

Here's another for "the media is not covering the Ford gov't's scandals"

Ontario voters continue to eat up this gravy train of shit with a shrug.

I mentioned an upcoming audit of Toronto's tree care practices. There have been tragic incidents. It's easy to find butchered trees on streets & in parks. Council + mayor need to be critically watching this in light of the parks non-responde to their request.

When a tree knocked me flat, the unhoused community in a Toronto park came to my rescue
In those terrifying moments of chaos and fear, something extraordinary happened

But at least most people don’t like the Yankees.

It will be better to have another win in Toronto anyway.

We all work thru this in our own way.

Ah now they’re playing like a Toronto team.

This one got me today. When did they announce a water feature with 1000 dancing fountains?

I get fed a lot of ads re Ontario place (Ontario taxpayer $). I hadn’t seen this rendering of the amphitheater before. Wild - a total rebuild? Note the spa doesn’t exist in background. Anyway, bookmark this image.

Starting up my old Twitter #fountainsTO thread on Bluesky with Toronto's most iconic fountain, Nathan Phillips Square. The theme of the thread is that fountains are good and Toronto should have more of them. Feel free to contribute!

At least kids are soft eh. An old brittle person would crack so fast.

I wave in many circumstances when people are good. Reinforcing good behavior is not a bad thing to do. I don't think it's subservient.

Like last week when I saw a ped get lightly hit by a driver who didn't stop as he crossed a sidewalk and the ped apologized.

A rotten culture we have built here around cars and trucks.

Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.

They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.

Ironically (or not) the current The Keg vernacular is very much "cottage mcmansion"
shawnmicallef.bsky.social
Remember when the suburban The Keg's looked like this? Windsor's still has the tower thinger. maps.app.goo.gl/AbvPj1xJdTPL...

20 years ago will & grace established how the gays make it safe for the straight people to buy property in neighbourhoods they populate. The dads don't even have to sleep with a bat.

fellas is it gay to live in a city

The executives.
franciswilkinson.bsky.social
The realities of capitalism and markets imply that if Trump accelerates his assault on the Canadian economy, forcing Canadian companies to choose between insolvency or moving production and jobs to the US, nationalist fervor may not last. Some executives are already considering it.
