A swallowtail butterfly caterpillar at rest on fennel planted solely for swallowtail egg laying. They like fennel, parsley and other herbs to deposit their eggs. I expect one to pupate soon - very large.

This is the in the vicinity of the Partnach Gorge I just posted. Again, circa 1970s.

Shots from the Partnach Gorge, south of Munich (near Garmish?) from 1975-ish, my best #narrow I could come up with quickly. Spent 6 years in Deutschland from mid to late 70s. This is very near the Olympic ski jumping platform from the '36 Olympics.

Reading details of recent exchange between NBC’s Yamiche Alcindor and Liar in Chief's surrogate - Liar in Training, Karoline Leavitt, I wish I could be in the room just to point out how deeply transparent & meaningless her BS projection is. Hell, Spicer at least was entertaining once in a while!😞😉

It is a shame I can only "like" this post once. Catholics take heart; he can still save you.😉

Great shot! I think his cousin and his 'wife' live near us!? . . .😉

Congrats! It takes a lot to make it work. Deb and I have been steady since Jr. High, '68 (married '69) and still goin' strong. Couldn't ever have done it without her & all over the world to boot. Hope you 2 are as fortunate as we've been. Trials & tribulations, but true love gets it done. 😉
You know what's pretty cool?

today, my wife Taylor and I celebrate being married for 13 years.

thats a big number, in my humble opinion. And yet, we still really like each other! Even after kids and starting businesses and unemployment and family deaths and me making us move to DC for a while and

Your mother would most certainly be most proud of all you have accomplished and will inspire in the future. Please stick around to help us regain control of what's left of this government! . . .

BTW - Happy Mother's Day to moms everywhere . . .
Today I am thinking of my mother, Dr. Shyamala Gopalan Harris, and the many lessons she taught me. I am so proud to be her daughter.

Happy Mother's Day to the mothers, stepmoms, grandmothers, godmothers, aunties, and all the women in our lives who love, raise, and guide us.

RFK Jr talking about the need for doctors to know how to treat measles for those who are unvaccinated.

“Only very sick kids should die from measles.”

No. They shouldn’t. That was the point of the vaccine. We eradicated the virus so children didn’t die.

Sick & disabled kids are not expendable!

Really!?, we have to be on the lookout then. We're in central PA, Northumberland County. . . . Haven't seen any yet . . . Also, I've tried to get shots like that; Perfect! . . .
I'm not in the southern US. This is from today in my backyard in Eastern PA.

U must be southern US. 'Haven't reached northern climes yet this year. Debbie and I grow milkweed, harvest instars (caterpillars) and allow them to hatch/grow in safe habitat before watching them emerge from chrysalis. Awesome! We release them thereafter. Lots of mantis who love the toxic instars!

Without a doubt! McConnell screwed Obama and inhibited Biden as much as he possibly could. It IS truly his fault we have the TSCOTUS we'll maybe have to live with for many years to come.

Looks like a variety of mint. It can be very invasive. If it is mint, it should smell minty. Also good to plant near milkweed (if growing it for monarchs this season), along with chives. Both help keep aphids at bay; they love milkweed! FYI - monarchs only lay their eggs on milkweed.
@iancapstick.bsky.social This plant was being completely overtaken with grass. I dug it out and salvaged the healthiest half of the plant and tried to remove most of the grass. (The other half looked like a lawn.) I’ve replanted it and watered it. Is there anything else I should be doing? Thanks.

We watched the Kentucky Derby last week and then saw this! Laughed my ass off! Wife heard, asked what was so funny and nearly rolled on the floor when she heard it!

Had a 'procedure' Friday; the OR staff loved it, too (before I 'passed out').🤣

BTW - Kudos to Geisinger Shamokin staff as well😉

1st post anywhere ever! Intro to 'the girls' - Izzy and sister, Shelby. . . Born Sept 2021; Izzy was the runt, but she's become quite a runner. After years with several very wonderful labs (Titus, Sadie, Storm and others) we opted for smaller versions of man's best friend in this stage of our lives
