"Yet avoiding pollution is not the core problem that life has solved. ... life-compatible environment is inherently unstable. Keeping it in dynamic equilibrium requires continuous effort and ingenuity, and this is precisely the function that natural ecosystems perform." substack.com/home/post/p-...
A Major Climate Unknown: Natural Ecosystems
We do not even recognize the existence of a parallel universe: natural ecosystems. Yet understanding their role in climate stability is essential for any viable ecological strategy for our species.

Please share. Scientists and policy makers are not the only ones who need to expand their understanding of how water interacts with Life, and Life with water - we all do. Enjoy.

An excellent article, with a somewhat ill fitting title. The article talks about the importance of water cycles in climate regulation and the forests that drive them.

“The economy is a wholly owned subsidiary of ecology.”
The reality of sustainability is a layer cake. Ecology supports society, and society supports the economy. When we invest in ecosystems, we strengthen every layer above.

We're told one of these land uses is 'productive', while the other is not.

But in terms of photosynthetic levels, as well as the production of clean air, water, no flooding, a stable climate, etc, etc, the natural ecosystem wins hands down.

As for biodiversity, let's not even go there.

I remind people not to panic. The Federal Government has never provided benefits to anyone. It has been their friends, neighbors and family that pay taxes that provide. The Government only distributes. Friends neighbors and family are still there to help one another. Let's look out for one another.

This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...
