This is a very good point that @suecowley.bsky.social makes that probably explains the difficulty in transition from Primary to Secondary level. It could explain the rise in school refusals. #EduSky
suecowley.bsky.social
There seems to have been a shift over the last 5-10 years to much more external control over behaviour in secondary, based on 'zero tolerance' type approaches pushed by high profile educators. So we have a split between a self-regulation/agency focus in primary and a control focus in secondary. 2/3

Interesting piece from @katie0martin.ft.com - well worth a moment of your time. So much money has gone into AI that it will reach every facet of our lives in order to justify the expenditure. The internet of things has morphed into the AI of things...craziness is coming! #EconSky

I'm not saying it makes a huge amount of sense, but I am saying a market melt-up is a distinct possibility. The bad stuff just isn't sticking - on.ft.com/48PHt3p

Happy birthday to Ha-Joon Chang. We love hearing him speak and thoroughly enjoy his books. He was also the inspiration behind Season 8 where we asked economists to name their favourite economist! He went for Herbert Simon. Have a listen now to learn more. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/s... #EconSky

🤣 True.

We came 8th last time. Progress made and we all got a £1 back!

That's progress!

Water companies have consistently asked for above inflation price rises to pay for investment and it rarely gets declined. Where has that money gone? 🤔 #EconSky open.spotify.com/episode/2Lkk...

Enjoyed watching 'M.E.G.A.' at the @gatehouse.london. it does really get you thinking about our 'unwritten constitution' and how that could potentially be exploited. A warning of what's to come perhaps from @francisbeckett.bsky.social.

Back at the @gatehouse.london to see the new @francisbeckett.bsky.social play - Make England Great Again. Should be interesting...

We're not the target market but the four tracks we heard were instantly forgettable and that included the title track with Sabrina Carpenter. We thought party bangers were the order of the day but based on a sample, sadly not.

We know a 'Minsky Moment' is finance related but you do wonder whether Trump/Reform are examples of a political Minsky Moment, where stability (read as centrism) has created instability. Complacency within policy making that created a combustible society! #EconSky open.spotify.com/episode/6Afa....

If you grew up in the early 80s, the documentary 'The Rubber-Keyed Wonder' is a great watch. Just seeing Jet Pac, Horace Goes Skiing, Daley Thompson's Decathlon and other classic Spectrum games on a screen makes you go all warm and fuzzy. Plus Clive Sinclair is a genius. Technology for the masses!!!
